Time to Call Out Burnouts in Europe… Without Shame

Did you know that burnout has been reported since the 1970s amongst “helping” professions, such as doctors and nurses. And only recently has the World Health Organization (WHO) recognised it as an “occupational phenomenon” that may need medical attention (almost five decades later). Our current Covid-19 pandemic is accelerating burnouts among health care professionals… and many are scrambling to find strategies to help such professionals make it through these uncertain times.

Writer, activist and entrepreneur, Celine Mas, takes the discussion a step further as she calls upon the EU to establish a European wide approach in giving burnout the attention it needs. Only then can we hope to mobilise the right efforts to help mitigate this phenomenon.
